Hoops with red pattern

We used the following materials to make these earrings:

2 rings 20mm, gilded brass

Delica beads, apple red, DB0791V

Delica beads, yellow-brown DB2262

Delica beads, 24K gold-plated, hexagonal

1 pair of earwires with spiral and ball, gold-plated sterling silver

2 open jumprings 4mm, gold-plated sterling silver

2 closed jumprings 4mm, gold-plated sterling-silver

1 beading needle

approx. 2m FireLine 6LB, black

Thread 1m of FireLine ... string a red bead ... and sew around the ring (from behind).

Sew back through the bead.

Tighten the tread so the beads comes to sit tightly on the outside of the ring. The end of the thread should be appox. 8cm..

String a golden bead and place it next to the red bead. Sew through the ring from behind ...

... and back through the golden bead. Tighten the tread so the beads sit closely next to each other.

Now you attach the next red bead. String the bead, sew through the ring (from behind) and back through the bead. Tighten the thread.

Continue like this and fasten beads all around the ring.

Once the ring is full of beads, you sew through the first bead again. Top down. The gap betwee the first and the last bead is closed now - and the first round is finished.

Sew back through the last pearl. From the bottom up.

Now you start the second row. Turn the ring, so you always work from right to left.

Thread the first bead of the second row.

Fasten the rest of the beads using brick stitch. Brick stitch means, you pull the needle through the thread between the 1. and 2. bead. From behind. Hold the ring as shown in the picture.

Pull the thread downwards and completety through. Now the bead sits a bit askew.

Sew back through the bead. Take care not to sew back through the thread between the beads, otherwise the bead will fall off.

Toghten the thread. Now the first bead of the second row is fastened. The beads fastened with brick stitch are shifted by half a bead.

Fasten the second bead in the same way:  You thread a red bead ... and pull the needle through the thread between the next to beads (from behind).

Tighten the thread.

Sew back through the red bead. From the bottom up.

Tighten the thread. Continue to fasten one bead at a time. You finish the second row like the first one.

Continue with the third row. (There will be more space in between the beads in the third row.)

Before you finish the last row, you incorporate a closed jumpring. String a bead and the closed jumpring. Sew the bead on.

Tighten the thread. Now the outer row is equipped with a ring.

Finish the third row as you finished the first and second by sewing through the first bead in the same row ... top down.

Tighten the thread. Fasten the thread by sewing it up through random beads. Take care that the thread is not visible.

Fasten the other end of the thread in the same way ... by sewing it up through random beads.

Open the loop of the earwire carefully ... insert the closed jumpring ... and close the loop again.

Once the three rows of beads are sewn on to the inner ring, you fasten the outer ring. Sew through 1 bead from the bottom up ... at the front side of both rings.

Sew around the ring and back through the same bead. The needle comes out at the front side.

Continue like with with the next bead. When all the beads are fastened to the outer ring, you sew up both ends of the thread.

Open a 4mm jumpring .... set it in between 2 beads into the outer row of beads ... insert the loop of the earwire ... and close the jumpring.
