smykker med cubes i halvædelsten

Smyks has acquired a selection of beautiful cube-shaped semi-precious stones, available in labradorite, amazonite, moonstone and carneole. The cube shape will provide your collection with a whole new special and elegant look.

This collection is built by using cubes and squares in earrings and bracelets. You can also try to experiment with different necklaces, showcasing the same style.

All of the examples below can be made in either gilded sterling or plain sterling.

øreringe og halskæde med labradorit

For these earrings, the following materials were used:

1 pair earwires with loop, 21mm
2 pcs. eyepin, gilded sterling, 50mm
2 pcs. labradorite cube-shaped, 7x7mm
2 pcs. gilded sterling bead, cube-shaped, 4x4mm
2 pcs. celestial crystals, cubic faceted
2 x 5cm gilded (dublé), cable chain

Begin by opening the eye of the eyepin, pulling the chain through and closing it shut again. You then take the labradorite, your gilded cube and lastly, the celestial cube, and attach it to the eyepin. Now, you will have to make an eye. You can learn how to make an eye, by following this guide by Smyks. Finally, open the eye of the earwire, attach all of the pieces and close the eye shut again.

Start out, by making one eye, at the end of your wire. Now, pull one end of the cable chain through the eye and begin making your twists with the wire. You can learn how to make an eye, by following this guide by Smyks. You then attach the 3 cubes to the wire, and the 2 tubes, to the chain. Finally repeat the first part of the process, by making an eye in the other end of the wire and pulling the chain through it. Remember that there iss no locking mechanism, so the 2 tubes needs to be attached to the chain, before closing it with the second eye.
