Here you find inspirational DIY jewellery in Bohemian style – this summer’s hot trend. Bohemian style is flamboyant, adventurous and unique. This is why you can combine colours, gemstones and chains just as you please.

You will have to make a lot of loops so the semi-precious stones can be hanged on earwires and hoops. The next step is to fasten the loops with wire which is wound around the earwires or hoops.

Tools:
For our sample jewellery we made all the loops with round-nose pliers. You can find instructions in our DIY guide The famous “loop”. There we use the following tools:

Round-nose pliers
Chain-nose pliers
Flat-nose pliers
Side-cutter pliers

Alternatively, you can use special looping pliers. Click here to read our instructions on how to use the looper.

DIY Earrings with gemstone pendants

We used the following materials to assemble these earrings:

First you decide where you want to attach the different parts on the earwire. Then you thread the gemstone beads on the headpins and make loops. In our DIY guide The famous loop we explain how to do that. Alternatively, you can use special looping pliers. Click here to read our instructions on how to use the looper.

After that, you fasten a jumpring to the rectangle, the teardrop and the piece of chain. In addition to that, you provide the other parts with a jumpring each, this will allow the pendants to hang loosely even after they have been fastened to the earwire. In our blog post on men’s necklaces we explain how to open and close jumprings correctly.

Now you attach the pendants to the earwire. Take ca. 20cm of gilded wire and coil it 4-5 times around the earwire.

Thread the first pendant onto the wire, then you twist the wire three times around the earring.

Fasten all the other pendants in the same way and finish by making 4-5 twists behind the last pendant.
